Worker participation is a core element of OSHA’s Recommended Practices for Safety and Health Programs. Safety committees are a great way to get workers involved in health and safety, but creating an effective committee can be hard. Many employees are often “voluntold” – placed on the committee by their supervisor. This session will offer best practices for building a successful safety committee within your organization. We’ll explore roles and responsibilities, safety committee functions, and common mistakes made when creating safety committees.
