The goal of a workplace ergonomics program is to prevent or reduce the risks of injuries and illnesses by eliminating or reducing occupational exposure to work-related musculoskeletal disorders risk factors. MSD risk factors include awkward postures, repetition, material handling, force, mechanical compression, vibration, temperature extremes, glare, inadequate lighting and duration of exposure. This session will provide a foundational understanding of an ergonomics program. You’ll also learn about some essential ergonomics risk assessment tools and how to use these free, interactive tools to identify hazards, analyze and evaluate risks, and apply risk-reduction concepts.
