Mental PPE: 4 Techniques for Teaching the Skill of Working Safely
Approved 2

Although we know errors can never be fully eliminated, that doesn't mean we shouldn't help people learn to work in a way that will minimize them. In this fast-paced session, you’ll learn about four techniques that – when presented to workers as a skill to develop for their benefit rather than a management-enforced requirement – will break down barriers to improving safety performance. We’ll discuss calibrating safety meters, developing “spider-sense,” creating safety habits and maintaining focus. This presentation will use storytelling, humor, examples from our animal friends and videos to reinforce why working safely isn’t something to be demanded or observed, but a skill to be taught and developed.
