A Multi-Disciplinary Approach to Integrating Ergonomic Solutions Into Software Innovations
MSDs pose ongoing risks in warehousing and material handling. Variations in force and postures from handling inventory with different weights and storage locations cause these risks. Join us to learn about a case study on how technology and software developments were successfully implemented to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders in material handling. The team’s goal was to use technology to optimize the storage location for inventory for the ergonomic benefit of employees without disrupting workflows. Two projects were initiated to achieve this: the Stow Intelligence-Golden Zone project and Ergonomic-Aware Pick-Assignments. You’ll learn how human-robot interactions offer opportunities for ergonomic innovations, and how ergonomists can reduce MSD risk by expanding their focus beyond physical workstation design to include inventory allocation and management software design.
