ISO 45001 Revision and Associated Standards Development Activities: A Review

ISO 45001, the international OSH management system standard, was released in March 2018. Currently, it’s undergoing a review and revision by ISO Technical Committee 283. With many organizations in the United States and internationally using these tools to manage their OSH hazards and risks, the revision represents substantial, potential changes that will need to be addressed. This session will provide an update regarding the changes under discussion by the TC 283 Working Group 6. TC 283 is also developing new guideline standards. These new standards address topics such as remote work, women’s health issues in workplaces, climate change impacts on workers and workplaces, and governance in OSH management systems. We’ll discuss these standards, and provide their status with regard to development, release and potential application.
