Friends Help Friends: The Leadership Value of Interpersonal Relationships and Connectedness
The level of our connection with an individual is directly proportional to our level of engagement with the individual. In the safety world, we need to develop productive interpersonal relationships (friends) within and outside our organization. This allows us to develop a network of partners to achieve success. We must be willing to take a risk and be vulnerable. The most successful leaders have developed emotional intelligence, allowing them to connect with others. In this session, we’ll discover how to be appropriately vulnerable, how to create trust among our team members and the value of empathy. Complete success is only possible when we develop friendships in the workplace. Quoting the Beatles, “I get by with a little help from my friends.”
