No matter how good safety training is, no matter how safe we make the workplace, it often comes down to the personal choices workers make when they’re alone. When we help employees make safety a personal value, they’re more likely to make the safest choice even when no one’s watching. If they don’t personally value safety, they’re less likely to make the best choice. In this session, you’ll learn how to give employees their own personal “why” through examples and stories and motivate them to perform their duties in the safest way possible. You’ll gain skills you can teach employees to help them recognize and handle distractions safely – and refocus when they realize they’ve been distracted. Learn how to create a workforce that works safely because people want to, not because it’s a rule.
